Environmental Statement

There are more options than ever for building sustainably. By using sustainable materials and better processes for building, finishing and transporting furniture, you can reduce the impact that your project has on the environment. Brunswick partners with organizations to create socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable office spaces.

From new finishes that are water-based, to particleboard that doesn’t use formaldehyde, to sustainable forestry and wood harvesting practices, Brunswick embraces change.

Brunswick helps organizations explore the options and create furniture that truly represents their values.

Nu Green Particleboard

Brunswick uses Nu Green — an EPP certified product that contains 100% post industrial wood fiber, which saves trees and avoids landfill. Nu Green is manufactured with a process whereby no urea formaldehyde is added. The resulting emissions are no greater than levels occurring in outdoor ambient air conditions.

Sustainably Harvested Wood Products

Brunswick doesn’t use endangered woods. Our hardwood materials come from Canada and the United States where sustainable forest management practices are in place.  Whenever possible we purchase FSC -rated veneers.

Responsible Waste Management

All Brunswick finishing waste is sent to waste management centres for processing.

Efficient Facilities & Practices

Brunswick’s modern facilities use less raw material and produce less waste.

HVLP Spray Finishing Systems

State of the Art Finishing

Brunswick’s HVLP high volume spray finishing systems minimize emissions into the atmosphere.

Low VOC Lacquer or Water-based Lacquer

Brunswick uses the latest generation low VOC lacquers. For many types of furniture water-based lacquers are also available (Brunswick is continually testing and researching how to improve green finishes).

Built to Last

Brunswick’s furniture is most definitely not disposable. It lasts and lasts and as a result is easier on the pocketbook and
the environment.

Built in North America

Buying close to home is better for the environment.
