Brunswick Wins Prestigious House of Commons Contract

The bid will mean that Brunswick Furniture is to outfit House of Commons Committee Rooms with new highly customized tables and seating. The bulk of the 3-year contract will be carried out in 2010.

Brunswick is currently in consultation with representatives from the House of Commons to refine and perfect the prototypes.

John Stene 1914-2008

Brunswick founder JOHN MAGNE STENE P.Eng. Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday afternoon, December 17, 2008. Beloved husband, father, uncle and friend, and a gentleman to the end. He escaped occupied Norway and made his way around the world to Toronto where he was a flying instructor, training the Norwegian boys at Little Norway and in Bracebridge, Ontario. Later, while flying with the RAF in England, he completed 29 missions during which he was awarded the DFC with Bar, St. Olav's Medal and the King's Medal. John later settled in Toronto where he started the Furniture Design Award winning company Brunswick Manufacturing. John was an avid nature lover, fisherman, birdwatcher and photographer.

New Brunswick original: Piegato occasional table

The Piegato has subtle lines that make a statement. The Bowed top tapers into a square bottom creating a versatile elegant occasional table that stands out from the crowd. As with all Brunswick furniture, the Piegato can be sized to suit the room and stained with a finish that matches the rest of the decor.

This year, Brunswick turns 50. From space age to post modern, the last fifty years has seen a lot of changes in the way that office spaces are designed. Brunswick Awarded Major RBC Project

RBC Reception Desk Brunswick chosen to build key part of RBC’s national rollout of branch upgrades. Always staying competitive, RBC is updating their branches to a new standard of design and accessibility. Brunswick will be fitting RBC branches across the country with a Brunswick -developed and -built reception desk and a branding installation called an “Info Pod”.

Brunswick’s unique manufacturing capabilities allow Brunswick to create the specialized curved reception area – and at the kind of volumes required for a national roll-out.

Brunswick, celebrating its 50th year this year, has plenty of experience developing similar solutions for other large institutions, such as the New York Institute of Technology – a project that emphasized technical and design innovation. Incorporating many sophisticated elements from the New York Institute project, Brunswick has created a modern, highly accessible reception solution that still clearly embraces RBCs standards and values.

On July 14, Brunswick launched its new website to make their full catalogue available online and to offer resources and articles that are useful to clients, designers and facilities managers.
